Torano Loyal and Vault
The Loyal blend features fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, combined with a Nicaraguan binder and dressed in an oily Ecuadorian Sumatra seed wrapper. Loyal is a solid, medium bodied smoke, that intrigues the palate with a spicy, peppery start and then transitions to a variety of rich flavours with notes of coffee and brown sugar. The Torano Vault gets its name from the vault in which the Torano blend book containing this secret recipe is kept. Inside the blend, complex Nicaraguan long leaf tobaccos perfectly combust producing ample flavor with earthy spices. These zesty tobaccos are masked with an Ometepe-grown ligero binder for a fantastic, full-flavored finish that leaves behind a bold, aromatic aroma. Outside, a Colorado Shade-grown Habano wrapper rests, providing that initial spicy character that lends to a smooth, well-balanced experience. This could be our favorite Torano blend to date.

La Flor Dominicana Colorado Oscuro
Colorado Oscuro.....The wrapper on the new cigar is a ligero Sumatra from Ecuador, which Litto Gomez said he isn’t able to source in large amounts, which will keep it a limited release with two shipments per year. The binder is Dominican Sumatra, and the filler is a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan leaves. A very attractive specimen, the wrapper is dark brown, rich and glistening with oils. The cigar has an incredible pre-light aroma – spicy hot chocolate, some barnyard, and some rich, wet earth dominate the nose. Once clipped, the cold draw is easy, with a touch of spice and some sweetness. The Digger....The cigar measures an amazing 8.5” long with a 60 ring gauge and is a true sight to see and hold in the hand. While certainly a large cigar, it doesn’t feel overwhelming, just big. The wrapper on the Digger is a Connecticut broadleaf maduro, while Dominican tobacco makes up the binder and filler, with a healthy dose of ligero leaves as is standard with LFD’s Double Ligero line.

Gurkha Royal Challenge
The dignified Royal Challenge, is a medium bodied cigar that is smooth and complex. The blend is highlighted by a silky, Connecticut/Ecuadorian shade wrapper, with a Habano, Honduran binder, complimented by Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers.

Warlock
The Warlock brand, with its gothic lettering, silver-on-black cigar bands and outlaw name, was quite a departure for cigar giant Altadis U.S.A. Inc. It has the edgy look of many a hot boutique cigar brand. Regardless of the image, the cigars are delicious. Virtually every other Nicaraguan cigar factory makes its home in Estelí, but Warlocks hail from Condega, crafted by Omar Ortez at the Agros Tobacos Industriales cigar factory. Condega is a well-known tobacco growing area with a balance—the leaf is not as strong as that in nearby Estelí, nor as elegant as that grown farther north, in Jalapa. Warlocks are designed to be strong, and they deliver, with power from the initial puff and a salty, leathery and earthy flavor that ends with notes of wood.

Gurkha Cellar Reserve
The vintage Cellar Reserve uses the finest quality 15 year-old aged tobacco, comprised of an oily Criollo 1998 wrapper, that combines an aged Dominican, Olor binder with a 15-year old Dominican filler. Housed in unique wooden boxes that aesthetically evoke a maturing wine barrel, the Cellar Reserve is a delicious medium to full-bodied cigar that is full of flavor and complexity.
